Description
Winter Hardy cover crop! Or annual in colder zones.
Unbeatable for fixing nitrogen on poor, dry, sandy soils, or on soils too acidic for clovers. Can be sown in the fall, winter or spring, either alone or in combination with grain, grass or pea seed. Will grow 3 to 4-ft. high. Cut when blooms begin to appear and turn under for a wonderful green manure. Widely adapted and withstands all but the severest of winters if sown in late summer or fall.
Not recommended for heavy clay soils or wet fields. Inoculate for best results with pea & bean inoculant. Sow ½-lb per 500 sq. ft.
