Poppy 'After Midnight' is a true showstopper, producing dramatic, nearly black blooms that add a touch of gothic elegance to any garden. These velvety petals create a striking contrast against the surrounding greenery, making them a perfect focal point in borders or containers. Their long, sturdy stems also make them ideal for fresh or dried floral arrangements.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Cold stratify for 2-4 weeks, then sow 1/16\" deep indoors or directly outdoors after the threat of frost. Poppies prefer full sun and well-draining soil. Thin the seedlings to about 6-12 inches apart once they have a few sets of true leaves. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells, and deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering throughout the summer. If you're looking to harvest seed pods for arrangements or future plantings, leave a few blooms to mature and dry on the plant.
