Description
Pink Checkermallow is native to just a few locations in Western North America, & is endangered. The plants tolerate salt & grow well in tidal marshes, coastal wetlands, & bogs, but can grow in almost normal garden conditions. The foliage is very decorative with deeply cut leaves, & the plants are deer resistant. From spring to fall, showy flower spikes are covered with 1” blooms that attract bees, butterflies (it is also a butterfly host plant), & HUMMINGBIRDS. They make a great cut flower too!
