Description
A Mediterranean native, Sweet Peas are bushy vines that bloom with large clusters of very fragrant flowers. This heirloom variety has larger blooms & better cold tolerance than others. They bloom in just 8 weeks from seed & bloom all summer long until frost. The plants will tolerate sandy or clay soils, & since it is a legume can also help fix the nitrogen in the soil to make it more fertile. You can grow your Sweet Peas up a trellis or fence, over a boring shrub, dangling out of a hanging basket, or as a ground cover. They also make a great cut flower, filling your home with their delicious fragrance. The plants are deer resistant, & the showy flowers attract bees & butterflies.
Sweet pea seeds can be toxic to humans & pets. Do not eat. Keep away from children & pets.
