Description
We love this delicious, edible, and nitrogen fixing cover crop.
Cool-weather substitute for lima beans in the North. Sow as soon as soil can be worked, as they don’t do well in heat. The traditional English variety, with 6 to 7-in., shiny green pods containing 3 to 6 very large, light-green beans used like limas. Nice sweet flavor like a pea. Pick at 2 to 3-in. to use as snap beans or pick when mature as shell beans. Buff-colored seeds. Bush, but may require support.
